His book is important for the students, research, policymaker and scientists related to the field of climate change, mountain ecosystem, fish and fisheries and biodiversity conservation at university and colleges level. During the past many years authors of many books have taught global environmental problems, fish and fisheries to post-graduate students. Authors themselves and their scholars have done researches on several aspects of fish biology, biodiversity conservation, environmental degradation and their impact on fish and aquatic ecosystem. It is no wonder, therefore that our experiences and problems faced by our students motivated us to compile our research and observations, with the help of relevant literature, table and diagrams in the form of a book. The book is designed to give students rapid, easy access to update and authentic information in a style which facilitates learning the impact of global climate change, pollution and ozone depletion on fish fauna and mountain aquatic ecosystem.Himalayan ecosystem, aquatic biodiversity and coldwater hill stream fishes cannot withstand the growing pressure of human population and over exploitation of fish genetic resources along with environmental changes.
