The Present book titled Indian Constitution: Essays in Honour of Prof. (Dr.) S. S. Singh is a humble tribute to the fond memories of Prof. (Dr.) Shiv Sahai Singh, a law professor at Department of Law, University of Burdwan, West Bengal. He is known for his lifelong pursuit of academic excellence and setting high standard in his professional and personal life. His expertise in constitutional law and law of interpretation was admiring. His epochal work “Unification of Divorce Laws in India” Is a great contribution to family law jurisprudence in India. He also edited a book on “ Intellectual Property Rights”. Besides he contributed greatly by his articles (around 70)in leading law journals and law reviews on varied issues of law and jurisprudence.
A Wide range of topics and issues have deliberated upon critically in the book by Scholars and Academicians. The topics covered in the book are reflective of the issues that need to be debated and discussed in present times. Recent issues such appointment of judges, Independence of judiciary activism have been critically analysed. Moreover, the debate surrounding question of cow slaughter and privacy has also been covered, besides deliberating in detail upon questions relating to constitutionalism, Fundamental duties, contempt of court, foreign Precedent , and Secularism. The papers contributed by scholars of repute provide a varied perspective on some of the crucial areas of Constitutional Law, and there by allow the readers to look at and appreciate the Constitution in a new light.

Dr. Uday Pratap Singh (1979) is post graduate in political Science (M.A.) and Law (LL.M., Gold Medalist Specialization in Business) from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya Avadh University Faizabad (U.P.) & The University of Burdwan (W.B.), respectively. Dr.Uday Pratap Singh completed his Ph.D. in Law from Burdwan University (W.B.). From 2005 to 2008, I had served as Lecturer in law in Midnapore Law college, under Vidya Sagar University (W.B.), Law College Durgapur,Durgapur (W.B.), Bengal Law College, Shanti Niketan (W.B.) of the University of Burdwan (W.B.) respectively. Currently, he is teaching as a Assistant Professional cum Director of the C.B. Singh Law College, Songoan, Dostpur Road, Akbarpur Ambedkar Nagar (U.P.). He has attended and presented paper in number of International and National Seminars, symposium, workshops and conferences etc. His huge number of research paper has been published in various journal, books and magazines.
Dr. Rabindra Kumar Pathak : is an Assistant Professor in law. Formerly, he was Assistant Professor, Department of Law, University of Burdwan. He is a law graduate from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi (2007). He did his LL.M. with Gold Medal in Jurisprudence from Indian Law Institute, New Delhi (2009). He qualified UGC-NET with Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in June, 2012. His doctoral research is on constitutional adjudication in India (2014). His areas of interests are Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law and Human Rights. He has 24 articles/ research papers/book review in national/ international law reviews and journals of repute like Bond Law Review, Journal of Indian Law Institute and Indian Bar Review to name a few, and two books (co-edited/ co-authored, 2011, 2013) to his credit. He has worked on two projects, one on Parliamentary Privileges and another on Centre-State Relations, with Indian Law Institute, New Delhi (2008 and 2009).He has presented papers in national and international seminars, symposiums and conferences. He has also delivered lecture at Judicial Academy, Ranchi, Jharkhand. Presently, he is working on Judicial Process in India.
Mr. Vijay Pratap Singh (1977) is post graduate in Political Science, English (M.A.) & Law (LL.M.) from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya Avadh University Faizabad (U.P.) & Veer Bahadue Singh Puravanchal University, Jaunpur (U.P.) respectively. Currently he is teaching as Assistant Professor Cum Chief Proctor of C B Singh Law College, Songaon, (Dostpur Road) Akbarpur, Ambedkar Nagar (U.P.). He has attended and presented paper in number of National & International Seminars, Conferences, Workshop, Symposium etc. He has contributed more than a dozen research papers published in various books & legal reputed journels. His contribution in field the law is remarkable.
